Howard Gardner, Ph.D., professor of psychology at Harvard, has named eight types of
intelligence:
Linguistic -- the ability to use words
Mathematical/logical -- the skill in reasoning and organization
Visual/spatial -- abilities in patterning, imagery, and metaphor
Musical/auditory -- skill with rhythm and musical patterning
Kinesthetic -- physical and athletic skills
Inter-personal -- skills in communication and sensitivity to others
Intra-personal -- inner focusing skills and being able to work by yourself
Intuitive/spiritual -- the skills to operate intuitively and to be aware of the dimensional
aspects of consciousness
Modern education focuses almost solely on the linguistic and mathematical types of intelligence.
