here's a bunch of guys from Lincoln, Nebraska bustin' a nut with what I might call middle-american hard-core...it's not as harsh [for lack of a better word] as northeastern hard-core...picture rolling corn fields, clothes hanging on the line, munching on a piece of wheat...now throw in an allston keg party...and that's basically what you've got. I saw them perform at entropy press' mental playground last may at the middle east [that's where I got their disc] their live performance is tight... as tight as the EP which I've been listening to on and off now ever since...and that to me is the test of a good recording. [a) you don't want to chuck it out the window after the first listening and b) you end up listening to it again months later and still enjoying it.] my favorite song is the title track "boy white city" which kind of sets you up for the rest of the album which I see as a very honest, non-pretentious musical presentation of their mid-western existence.
